Australia 75th Anniversary of the End of WWII 2020 $2 Colour Aluminium-Bronze Uncirculated Coin Pack
Struck by the Royal Australian Mint, the 2020 $2 75th Anniversary of the End of WWII coin is a must-have for collector and non-collector alike.
Honouring the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII
A unique Australian legal tender type, this $2 coin marks 75 years since Japanese officials formally surrendered to the Allies, bringing a conclusion to the Second World War. Whilst an affordable military commemorative tribute, giving you the chance to honour those who defended Australia in our darkest hour, this one-year-only coin type is a must-have for collectors.
Hoarded out of circulation!
Notable for the low mintage of just 2 million – compared to the annual average $2 mintage of 28 million – this eye-catching full-colour $2 type was naturally all but hoarded out of circulation. Like every commemorative $2, it is very tough-to-find in change, in any grade. Even if you are fortunate, and find one of these distinctive WWII $2 coins, it will not be in the pristine Uncirculated quality available here.
Offered in strictly Uncirculated quality!
An important opportunity, this is your chance to keep your collection complete in top grade! Housed in a credit card-style pack, the 2020 $2 75th Anniversary of the End of WWII coin is available in strictly Uncirculated condition. Click add to cart now!
About the design…
Commemorating the end of the Second World War, ushered in when Japanese officials formally surrendered to the Allies, this unique Australian legal tender type carries a poignant, richly symbolic design.
Reflecting hope for the future, as well as recognising the sacrifice of those Australians who died in the conflict, the design has four main elements. Depicting the battleground in the war against Imperial Japan, the design is highlighted by a map of the South East Pacific and Asia region, united with the Dove of Peace. A full-colour motif dominates the heart of the 20.50mm flan – representing the Army, Navy and Air Force – with a 7-pointed star representing the Commonwealth, and also the stars seen on Mother’s and Widow’s Badges.
