Australia WWII Greece & Crete 2026 20c Privymark Stamp & Coin Cover

Australia WWII Greece & Crete 2026 20c Privymark Stamp & Coin Cover

Headlined by a not-issued-for-circulation Australian 20c type bearing an ENVELOPE PRIVYMARK, this official Australia Post Stamp & Coin Cover marks the 85th anniversary of the Allied campaigns in Greece and Crete during WWII.

Initially attempting to remain neutral, Greece entered the war after Italy invaded in late 1940. After Mussolini’s forces suffered several setbacks, Germany stepped in – largely because of Greece’s strategic importance. The Nazis invaded in April 1941 and swept aside all resistance. The Allies withdrew to Crete, but Germany launched a largely airborne invasion of the island – at that point, the largest of its kind in history. The Allies were overwhelmed, and approximately 1,600 Australians were killed or wounded in the campaign, with more than 5,000 taken prisoner.

A fine tribute to Australia’s role, the WWII Greece & Crete 2026 20c Privymark Stamp & Coin Cover is a must-have for coin collectors. Why? Because the one-year-only 20c found in this cover will not be issued for circulation! Importantly, it is utterly unique – distinguished from the Royal Australian Mint’s standard Greece & Crete 20c by the addition of an envelope privymark!

With the limited edition restricted to a mere 6,000, and our allocation tiny, immediate action is essential. Click add to cart now!
